In addition to discussions around the historical exhibition, originally curated by Peter Roehr and Paul Maenz in 1967 for the Studio Galerie in Frankfurt, the publication includes numerous new essays. These examine the phenomena of the serial as an aesthetic model for anti-hierarchical and anti-authorial orders, and presents manifold ideas and conceptions behind the works. Moreover, the publication Serielle Formationen 1967/2017 contains a re-print of the historical catalog.
