Walter De Maria’s 5 Continent Sculpture, realised 1989/90, and Ben Willikens’ wall and ceiling paintings for the Auditorium at the Daimler site Stuttgart-Möhringen form the centre of our exhibition Space & Urbanity & Landscape. For the first time, the large number of early sketches, designs and project drawings, showing the conceptual foundation for Williken’s wall paintings, are brought together in an exhibition. As a second core area, the current exhibition presents around 50 works from the Mercedes-Benz Art Collection dealing with aspects of space, urbanity and landscape and ranging between reduction and abstraction.
