The current art exhibition at the Stuttgart-Möhringen site brings together for the first time works by 40 female artists from the Mercedes-Benz Art Collection, ranging from Ida Kerkovius, a pioneer of abstract art in Stuttgart, to the ‘minimalist’ Charlotte Posenenske and contemporary artists such as Simone Westerwinter, Ulrike Flaig, Sylvie Fleury, Pamela Singh and Tamara K.E. The selection of works reflects important trends of the 20th century and the present day in the fields of painting, sculpture and photography, and asks whether there is any such thing as specifically female art.
