Dadamaino began the Il movimento delle cose cycle in 1987, from which she presented works at the Venice Biennale in 1990. Characteristic are the abandonment of the traditional image form and the tendency to dematerialize the traces of the drawing. Guided by the idea of drawing in the air, she modeled flowing linear energies on transparent polyester foils hanging in front of the wall or freely in the room. The differently aligned rows of short lines correspond to combinatorial and numerical ordering criteria. Regarding the title, Dadamaino said: “The movement of things consists in the naturally metaphorical representation of a destiny or a whole of biological and existential destinies. It is the rhythms of people meeting, loving, pulsating and moving, changing. In the end, they go away like autumn leaves.” (Dadamaino)
